Authors Philip & Osnet Teitelbaum, professors at the University of Florida, worked for nearly two decades to develop a new method of detecting early signs of potential autism in a child. Their book offers motor development clues gleaned from family videotapes of children later diagnosed with autism.
Illustrations and descriptions of normal patterns of rolling over, sitting, crawling and walking in a child’s first year are presented along with comparisons of those of children later diagnosed on the autism spectrum. There are a series of tests that parents and professionals can easily conduct to help identify early autism.
This book is a "must read" for health professionals and other persons who work with infants and for parents of infants, who are concerned about their baby’s motor development.
