A Competitive Edge Through Brain Training

The Brain

Although the brain isn’t a muscle, there are ways of training the brain to perform better during athletic activity. If your brain has reached peak performance, your body will, too. The process of strengthening the brain takes advantage of something your brain already has: Plasticity.

Research has proven that throughout our lives, our brains change based on our thoughts and activities. The science of the brain is called neuroscience, and the ability of the brain to change and grow is called brain plasticity.

The Athlete

Brain Training enables you to take advantage of this plasticity, thereby achieving peak performance in athletic competition. Among other things, brain training can create improvements in…

  • Focus – maintain your attention longer during your performance
  • Strength – improve muscle tone
  • Balance & agility – stay steady on your feet and easily move your body
  • Coordination – get your eyes, hands and feet to move together
  • Precision – be more precise in your movements and execution
  • Visual perception – increase depth perception and peripheral vision
  • Response time – size up situations, make a decision & act quickly

The opportunity to achieve a competitive edge is now available. Here’s how it works…

I am a JV basketball player and member of the Gainesville AAU travel basketball team. I was listening to the modified music and doing balance board activities for a couple of weeks, when I noticed I could see the man I was guarding, all of the other players, and the basket without turning my head.  My vision and focus were so sharp! The coaches even commented on my improved game. My focus in school improved, which helped my grades. I recommend Brain Works for every athlete.

After three weeks of auditory stimulation and balance board activities, my tennis serve is better than it was in college. My judgment of the ball has improved a lot, and I can maintain my focus throughout a whole match. A guy I play who has been an even match for me, I have now beaten easily three times in a row. Thanks, Brain Works!

I attended Brain Works for my attention span, and it worked. My grades increased by a full letter grade in each class, and my attention span for lectures increased,” said McCrea.“Even though I was already known as a good athlete, my perception of distance improved in baseball. I was also able to read the spin on the ball and judge which direction it would go.
